East of Capitola, Aptos offers a gorgeous combination of pristine beaches, mountains, and forests. 

Less hectic than Santa Cruz, Aptos boasts beautiful residential neighborhoods. Yet there are still excellent amenities, including the boutiques and dining options in historic Aptos Village. Locals enjoy one of the area’s top farmers markets at Cabrillo College each Saturday. Hikers and bikers are drawn to the miles of trails in rugged semi-wilderness at The Forest of Nisene Marks. Seacliff is a primarily residential neighborhood adjacent to the State Beach famous for its concrete ship docked in 1929. Rio del Mar State Beach offers miles of sand and panoramic views of the Bay, making it an ideal spot to savor the sunset. The Seascape Golf Course and Resort also contribute to vacation feel of the area.
